Xhovana Marku: My relationship with oboe … as the beautiful things happen in the world!
Xhovana is a young and talented oboist from Tirana. She has just finished the master degree as a oboe instrumentalist in University of Arts in Tirana. She started to learn oboe when she was 10. Actually she is playing oboe in different concerts and orchestras.
In the OpusAlb music critic magazine, the name of oboe instrumentalist Xhovana Marku is known as one of the young Albanian instrumentalists with an activity to be praised. Last year in April in the international competition “Pjeter Gaci”, the 16th edition, Xhovana was honored with the special award “Pjeter Gaci”. Student of the University of Arts in Tirana, Xhovana played in the Oboe concert – Hayden. A month later she performed in Tetovo on the “Three-Arch Bridge” project as one of the two students attending the Albanian Music Faculty. In the “International Chamber Music Festival” held in Durrës, on the last evening on July 12, 2017, Xhovana Marku was part of the student brass quintet who participated in this event. Every year the “Ritorno all Opera association Italy hosts the “Trentino Opera Festival” This event, which was held from July 31 to August 14, 2017, organized 13 shows in different areas of Trentino where the opera “Rigoleto” was performed. Marku, participant in three concerts with Trieste Wind Ensemble, the ensemble created through the collaboration between the University of Arts of Tirana and the Conservatory of Music in Trieste, participating in ESMA 2017, are just some of its activities.
On Monday, March 5, 2018 at the University of Arts Hall, the orchestra of the University with the students of the Department of Interpretation performed for the public at a symphonic concert. Xhovana was part of this concert. On July 9, with a recital concert at the University where she studied, she fulfilled the University phase to open another one in her life.
