The story of a song

In 1986, Lucio Dalla wrote a song dedicated to the great Italian tenor Enrico Caruso (Enrico Caruso) who became famous not only for his melody and lyrics but also because he immediately entered into the repertoire of world-famous tenor Luciano Pavaroti .

According to Dalla  he wrote the song when he was in a hotel in Sorrento, where Enrico Caruso had been years before dying. The owners of the hotel  told him about the last days of great tenor and about his passion  for a girl to whom he use to teach kanto courses.  This story inspired Lucio  to write the song.

Afterwards this song use to know  thousands of interpretations, starting with Ana Oxa, Lara Fabian, Julio Iglesias, Sergio Franchi, and hundreds, but the greatest performance of all is the one of great tenor Luciano Pavarotti.
