Santa Cecilia concert audience free tonight on Rai Radio Tre
A concert without audience will be broadcast tonight on Rai Radio Tre. This will be the concert of Santa Cecilia that will be held this Thursday at 20.30. This is the second meeting of the Chamber Music Season of the National Academy of Santa Cecilia that is also following the rules of the last restrictive decree in the conditions of covid emergency.
The protagonists of this evening to be held at the Auditorium Parco della Musica will be the choir under the direction of Piero Monti and Luigi Piovano who is the first cello soloist of the Academy Orchestra. The program is dedicated to Russian authors and will open with “Vocalise”, which is also the last part of a collection of songs with piano accompaniment composed by Rahmaninov for soprano Antonina Neždanova between 1912 and 1915. At the Cecilian concert the song will be entrusted to the cellist Alessandro Gagliano (1791) by Luigi Piovanos.
Piero Monti will conduct the chorus accompanied by percussion in the “Lulling the sun” part of the recently deceased Georgian composer Giya Kancheli.
