The Iliro – Arbërore origin of Lahuta up to date
Lahuta represents the archaic archetype of the arch-corded instruments of the European continent, where, according to the researchers, the lahuta has an Iliro-Arbërore origin, which is nowadays unchanged. Lahuta has had and has an active life in Albanians who live in Albania, Macedonia, Kosovo, Montenegro and Serbia. The lacquer used by Albanians differs from the Lahuta of other peoples by size, symbolism, mythical figures and popular archaic artwork, offering interesting and surprising looks. Kreshnik’s epic and Lahuta are the largest monument of Albanian oral poetry. Recently is being prepared the file of the “Eposi i Kreshnikëve”, which is due to the failure to introduce Kosovo into UNESCO, has delayed the application procedures. And though Serbia has applied for the acceptance of Gusle as its spiritual legacy, it does not diminish the greatness of Lahuta used by Albanians.
