The tenor Ismet Vejseli at the podium of the Lyric Voices Competition in Sofia
The artistic life and cultural events of Albanian musicians in Northern Macedonia has been part of several articles that the cultural journal of music critic Opus Alb has published. Also there has been included collaborations between musicians from Albania and Albanian musicians from the neighboring country. For example, in April last year in Kumanovo, it took place the exhibition “Between the Centuries” by Ermal Sela and a concert by the Ensemble “Albanian Brass Quintet & Percussion” was held.
Ismet Vejseli, a tenor from Kumanovo, also performed this evening. Meanwhile, this year on November 9th and 10th, the Balkan Romansiada Lyric Voices Competition was held in Sofia. The only Albanian participant in this edition was the new Kumanovo tenor Ismet Vejseli. He was accompanied on the piano by Prof. Elena Siljanoska.
At the end of the competition Ismet was awarded the second prize for the romance singing in Russian language. Regarding the importance of this award he said:
“For me this award is very much due to the importance and the many years tradition of this competition. It is about Russian romances, which is not widely interpreted, and this has been an opportunity to learn more about Russian music in particular. “
Currently Ismet Vejseli is a student at the Faculty of Music at the Cyril and Methodius University under the direction of acclaimed soprano Dr. Anna Durlovski.
Up to date the tenor Vejseli has been part of many cantonal activities in Macedonia, Germany and Italy. He currently says he is preparing a concert for his first recital, where he will perform with pianist Biljana Petrovska on November 18 at KIK-Skopje.
The new tenor, with high expectations for the ambitious future, is awaiting concerts in Skopje, a master class in Berlin and preparation for concerts abroad, where even this recently received prize will lead to the best!
