Spotify proposed initiatives to help artists in this difficult period

Spotify is among the big companies that have proposed initiatives to help artists in this very difficult period. For many artists the main income comes from concerts, which at this time do not have the opportunity to be held due to pandemics. “Spotify” has launched a way to donate to your favorite artist or the issue he or she works for or protects. Thanks to Artist Fundraising Pick, artists can raise money for themselves or for the teams they hire, as well as the staff they work with. The same can be done for donations that can be verified through the “Spotify COVID-19 Music Relief” project. Debut requires a small group that knows the donation process: Cash App, GoFundMe and Cash App is the main funding app in these caste and has established a $ 1 million fund for artists. Artists of the streaming platform can choose “#cashtag” as an issue to manage to provide at least one donation. Once this is possible, a $ 100 bonus comes from the Cash App. The offer is currently valid for artists in America and Britain but donations can come from Spotify users from around the world. Donations to teams working with musicians are set in motion thanks to the Spotify charity project, which came out last month in collaboration with MusiCares, PRS Foundation and Help Musicians. Among the artists who have activated this application we can mention Marshmello or Benjamin Ingrosso

  • Centre National de la Musique (France)
  • Deutsche Orchester-Stiftung (Germany)
  • Initiative Musik (Germany)
  • Irish Music Industry Covid-19 Emergency Relief Fund (Ireland)
  • Musikerforbundet (Sweden)
  • Support Act (Australia)
  • União Brasileiră de Compositores (Brasil)
  • Unison Benevolent Fund (Canada)
