Eddie Van Halen, the legendary guitarist and co-founder of the band “Van Halen”, passed away the day before. The legendary musician passed away at the age of 65 after a long battle with cancer. The guitarist has become part of the “Rock and Roll Hall of Fame” has left behind a collection of pieces that can hardly be compared to others. Eddie Van Halen was born in Amsterdam in 1955. His real name is Edward Lodewijk Van Halen. He was also a composer, producer and was also known as an innovator. Edi was the lead composer of the band which he co-founded with his brother who was the band’s drummer. Edi was born into a family with musical aspirations. His father played the clarinet, saxophone and piano. He was highly regarded as a pianist. The family moved to America in 1962 as the two brothers began taking piano lessons when they were 6 years old. Edi liked the guitar more and admitted in a famous interview that he did not know how to read the score for a long time. He was a natural talent, he learned by listening and watching being a man of improvisation. The first Van Halen brothers’ group was founded in 1972 and took the name Van Halen in the mid-1970s. In 1977 a contract was signed with the record company “Warner Bros”. The debut album arrived in 1978 and conquered the whole world with its sounds. The first album was titled “You Really Got Me”.
