Placido Domingo withdraws from Met Opera
Placido Domingo withdraws from the Met Opera, where he was expected to stage Giuseppe Verdi’s “Macbeth” opera. The show was expected to take place on Wednesday, but as the Associated Press reports, Domingo is withdrawing from all upcoming Met Opera shows. The decision came after the prominent artist was at the center of allegations of sexual harassment by some women. Domingo also attended Monday’s rehearsal but Met Opera announced that the lyricist had agreed to the need to take a step back.
