In running the Santa Cecilia National Academy until 2025

 As ANSA reports Michele Dall ‘Ongaro has been confirmed as President and in charge of running the Santa Cecilia National Academy.


This decision was made by the assembly of academics who contributed by more than two-thirds of the votes needed for the first round election. Dall ‘Ongaro, who has been appointed to this position since February 2015, will remain in office until 2025.


Michele Dall ‘Ongaro is 62 and after completing her studies at the Roman Conservatory he continued to study composition and orchestra direction with Franco Ferrara.


As a pianist he collaborated with the Rai Symphony Orchestra in Rome and with the Rome Opera House where he taught for nearly 20 years at the Italian Conservatory. He has been working with RAI since 1985. From 2000 to 2015 he was the conductor responsible for Radio 3’s musical programming and from 2008 he was responsible for the RAI National Symphony Orchestra.


In 2012 he was honored by President Giorgio Napolitano with the title of Cavalier of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic and again honored by President Mattarella in 2017.
