Music by composer Admir Shkurtaj at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory

Albanian composer Admir Shkurtaj was commissioned by the Venice Biennale to write the music of the “Golemi” soundtrack.

At the Conservatory of Santa Cecilia on Wednesday, at 19.00, the work will be published by Paul Wegener, “The Golem- come  venne al mondo” by composer Shkurtaj.

In the academy of the famous Conservatory will  perform the Albanian soprano Hersjana Matmuja and instrumentalists Giorgo Distante, Pino Basile, Jacopo Conoci and Vanessa Sotgiu.

This cast of musicians will be conducted by the composer Admir Shkurtaj.

For the first time this work was presented to the public on the evening preceding the Biennale on August 18 last year in Venice.

Asked by Opusalb for cooperation with the Biennale, composer Shkurtaj expressed:

“For a long time, co-operation with the director of Korea” Korea “Salvatore Tramaçere and the musical recognition with the artistic director Ivan Fedele brought in 2014 the commissioning of an opera for the 58th edition of the Venice Musica Biennale;

“Katër i Radës – Il naufragio” with the script  of Alessandro Leogrande.

The orientation of the Biennale was towards the spread of the musical and geographical boundaries of its expression; my work, and I in my universe, were in the right moment and time!

Unforgettable experience, had a great eyewash especially for stubble styles, eliminating the risk of rhetoric. As an Albanian I arrived and introduced to the Venice Biennale the polyphonic tune of the south with the group of Lapardha!

This year I was rehearsed the soundtrack of the silent film “Der Golem” – 1920 – Paul Wegener in an interplay with the tape projection with “Mesimer Ensemble”. The event was the opening ceremony of the 75th Venice Biennale Venice Film Festival 2018. Something Extraordinary! 1500 spies in silence, “said the Albanian musician.
