Jon Bon Jovi is honored by the University of Pennsylvania as a Doctor in Music

On May 20th at the closing ceremony of the 263th year, the University of Pennsylvania honored Jon Bon Jovi with honorary degrees as a doctor in music. The ceremony was accompanied by a chorus of students who sang “Livin ‘on a Prayer”.


Jon Bon Jovi, 57, has started to be active in music that was small when he met with music at the age of 13.


He was 16 when he created the first band but the group that gave international fame was born in 1983. So far with the group he has published 14 albums and 100 million albums sold worldwide.


In addition to music he also deals with other activities such as volunteer activists in humanitarian projects of the Red Cross, Special Olympics, children with AIDS, or homeless people. He has also founded the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation association that deals with homeless people in the US.


He received a Honorary title also in 2001 from the University of Monmouth, which received a Honorific Doctorate degree in Humanitie
