Here’s who will be singing at the MTV 2020 awards

The most important MTV Video Music Awards 2020 ceremony will be held on August 30. The Weeknd is also on the list of those expected to go on stage.

 

MTV has announced that Colombian singer Maluma and the group CNCO will sing at the ceremony. This evening was originally to be held at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, but was decided to be held outside in several locations in New York as a result of the pandemic.

 

The other confirmed artists are Korean band BTS, Doja Cat. Keke Palmer will present the evening. The main guest is The Weeknd.

Albanian artist Dua Lipa is nominated in three categories with the song “Physical”.

For this song she will be voted for the choreography award, visual effects and best artistic direction.

Dua is also competing for best director with the song “Don’t Start Now”.

 

In this edition MTV has added two new categories: the best music video filmed at home and the best performance in quarantine. This year the artists with the most nominations are Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande each with 9 nominations each. Both artists have the opportunity to win the most important award of this ceremony and specifically that of: “Best Clip of the Year” for their collaboration “Rain on me”.
