Irida Dragoti: Extremely happy to return to the city where I was born
On July 27-th in Tirana will be the held the concert called “Primedonne”. This concert starts at 20.00 and will take place at the Cultural Center near the Orthodox Church. Among the 6 artists, of which there are 5 lyric singers and a pianist we see the name of Irida Dragoti from Tirana. We had the opportunity to talk to Irida about this program and about other informations she is sharing with our readers.
Opusalb: Irida you will soon come to Tirana in a special music project. How did this idea come about?
I.DRAGOTI: It has been some times since i participate in some important masterclasses organized by “Ariadimusica” directed by Gianni Maria Ferrini. I met them during the masterclass I was attending with the mezzo- soprano singer Renata Lamanda, who attends me with other professors during the period I’m working at the Rome theater. This association organizes other concerts in many European countries. In these concerts takes part Albania as well. I was suggested to participate in this concert that we will soon bring to Tirana. I felt happy about this cooperation and accepted without any hesitation. Luckily those days I was free from La Traviata’s commitments that we have practically ended since the end of July. A great luck! I am extremely happy to be returning to Homeland, the town where I was born. Really a great emotion! We will be five singers from five countries like Albania, Greece, Italy, Taiwan and South Korea. The great master Antonio Pergolizzi will accompany us on piano.
Opusalb: When was the last time you performed in Tirana?
I.DRAGOTI: The last time I’ve been singing in Tirana was in November 2016 at the concert dedicated to the great artist Nina Mula, who was my Canto Professor. Inva was very kind to me and Klodian Kaçani (the two favorite students of prof. Nina) to sing together with her at the Catholic Cathedral of St. Paul in Tirana. It was a great emotion I sang to remember my professor Nina Mula. In this concert we sang together with Inva Mula that I admire and love very much.
Opusalb: How are you expecting this coming to Tirana?
I. DRAGOTI: Albania is my homeland. I feel honored and excited that I’m going back home to have a chance to make a concert before my friends. It’s really a privilege. I’m happy and I look forward to see everyone in this concert.
Opusalb: How is your ongoing show “La Traviata” going?
I. DRAGOTI: La Traviata, is a premiere for the opening of the Rome Opera Theater’s summer performances in which I play my first role in this theater. I’m singing in the role of Flora. It’s going very well and I’m happy because I had so far very good reviews by music experts. As you know, i take part in the Young Artist Program “Factory” program of the Rome Opera Theater directed by Director Eleonora Pacetti. This program aims to launch young talents within the two-year program that organizes the Opera Theater Rome I will soon interpret other roles that have entrusted me.These roles will debut at the Rome Opera Theater for the upcoming two years. I will collaborate with classical music stars like Maestro Daniele Gatti and many others “.
