Irida Dragoti and Saimir Pirgu in the stage of Roma Opera Theater
From the evening of February 18 until the 29th of this month, the prominent composer Tchaikovsky’s opera ‘EVGENIJ ONEGIN’ will be staged at the Rome Opera House. Set for the first time in the distant year 1879, this current staging created for the New York Metropolitan Opera is directed by Robert Carsen and conductor James Conlon.
The exciting news about this show is that there are two Albanian lyric artists with a career that stands out on the international stage: Irida Dragoti in the role of Larina and Saimir Pirgu in the role of Lensky.
The orchestra, choir and ballet corp will be conducted by maestro Conlon.
The work will be sung in Russian with English and Italian subtitles. In the roles of Tatiana and Eugene will be respectively Maria Bayankina and Markus Werba.
This work was first performed at Malïy Theater by students of the Moscow Conservatory on March 29, 1879.
The show lasts 3 hours and 10 minutes with a 30 minute break.
