Eurovision 2020: see you in the Netherlands!
Ended last evening the 64th edition of the European Song Contest – Eurovision.
The winner of this edition is the25-year-old Duncan Laurence from Netherlands. At the end of a 3 hour and a half show he was named winner with the song “Arcade”.
Laurence is one of the song authors along with Joel Sjoo and Wouter Hardy.
“Dream big but put the music first … always” were his words right after the victory.
This is the fifth time for the Netherlands that wins Eurovision but the last victory had taken place 44 years ago.
Regarding the vote, Sweden was the country that won the jury vote, the votes of the public went to Norway, but in the end most points came in the Netherlands and its representative Duncan Laurence.
This year the festival was held in Tel Aviv because Israel was also the winner in 2018 at the Eurovision Song Contest held in Lisbon.
The final night also brought the new song of the Net, recalling some of the winning songs over the years, returning to the stage some of the winners, including Elena Fourerai. This final was also awaited because of the arrival of Madonna, which conveyed some messages to singers and performed two songs.
Albania with Jonida Maliqi and the song “Ktheju tokës” reached the final for the 8th time. Jonida performed the second last night. At the end of the Festival, Albania was ranked 18th out of 26 countries.
This was the 16th participation of Albania in Eurovision. So far the Albanian participants who have gone to the final have secured the country: a fifth place, a seventh, an eleven, three 17th place, a 16th and last night, 18th place.
Since 2004 when Anjeza Shahini participated for the first time so far, Albania has been in Eurovision 16 times.
Anjeza Shahini, Kejsi Tola, Olga Boka, Juliana Pasha, Rona Nishliu, Elhaida Dani, Eugent Bushpepa and Jonida Maliqi are the participants for Albania who have met and the final.
As far as the representations of Albania are concerned, so far the highest number of points in the final is Eugent Bushpepa with the song “Mall” (184 points). Eugen Bushpepa took the 11th place in Lissabon last year. He interpreted the song “Mall” where he was and the only author of it. Albania has so far recognized Rona Nishliu and the song “Suus”.
