Ermonela Jaho with “Otello” at the Royal London Opera

This evening in  London’s Royal Opera House will take place  the opera “Othello” by composer Giuseppe Verdi.

In the cast of this show are big names of the lyric scene starting with a acclaimed conductor   Antonio Pappano. The renowned master will lead the Theater Orchestra and Choir. Desdemona of this production is the Albanian soprano, Ermonela Jaho.

Alongside the Albanian star of the lyric scene, in the role of Othello is the famous American tenor Gregory Kunde. He is mainly known for his repertoire of French and Italian works.

The Albanian soprano and American tenor performed together in these roles three years ago at the Royal Madrid Theater. This work was brought back to the Madrid scene after 17 years.

In the role of Iago, is the Spanish baritone Carlos Alvarez. He is, among others, the winner of a Latin Grammy Award and a Grammy Award for Best Opera Record. He won this award with Ford’s role in Giuseppe Verdi’s “Falstaff”.

The Albanian soprano Ermonela Jaho, in addition to international acclaim and prestige, is also the winner of the Public Opera Awards, which she received in London in 2016.

The show lasts three hours and 10 minutes including a break.

The lyrical drama “Othello” (1604), based on William Shakespeare’s work with Arrigo Boito’s libretto  and the composition of Giuseppe Verdi, will be staged four more times this December: on December 13, 16, 19, 22.

The play is directed by Keith Warner. The show tonight, therefore, December 9, 2019 starts at 7.30pm.
