Ermonela Jaho with “Anima Rara” at the top of the rankings on digital platforms
She is now number one on the Warner Classic list of “Operas you must listen to” on some of the digital platforms like Spotify, iTunes & Deezer.
It is about the Albanian soprano Ermonela Jaho and her new album “Anima Rara”.
Our world-famous soprano Ermonela Jaho recorded this album last November in Valencia. The album contains 70 minutes of music. Registration was conducted at the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia de Valencia (Spain) in November 2019. For this debut recital the lyric scene star Jaho collaborated with the “Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana” under the direction of conductor Andrea Battistoni.
The album “Homage to Rosina Storchio. Anima Rara” brings together in a single compilation the music sung by Italian soprano Rosina Storchio, also known for creating the role of Cio-Cio San in Puccini’s masterpiece “Madama Butterfly” when it was premiered in 1904 at La Scala in Milan.
In this collection Ermonela performs Puccini’s arias (“Un bel dì vedremo”, “Con onor muore… Tu? Tu? Piccolo Iddio” by Madama Butterfly), Leonkavalos (“Musette svaria sulla bocca viva”, “Mimì Pinson, la biondetta” de La bohème), Maskanjit (“Un dì (ero piccina)” by Iris; “Ah! Il suo nome!… Flammen, perdonami” by Lodoletta; “Son pochi fiori” by L’amico Fritz), Massenet (Pendant un an je fus ta femme ”; Prélude Acte V y“ Demain je partirai ”by Sapho; “Teneste la promessa… Addio del passato” by La traviata) and Catalani (“Ebben? Ne andrò lontana” by La Wally).
The album was released on September 25 and was initially launched at 18.00 on this date on the FB page of Opera Raras.
Meanwhile, “The most famous soprano in the world” according to “The Economist”, or “The best Madama Butterfly that London has seen in many years” according to “Independent”, and “Triumphant appearance in Madama Butterfly” according to the “Guardian” is in Greece.
The performance will take place on October 10 at the Stavros Niarchos Hall of the Greek National Opera. Here is how the Greek Opera Theater itself described the participation of the Albanian diva: “The only Ermonela Jaho, one of the most important sopranos on the planet is already in Athens for Madama Butterfly rehearsals with the National Theater of Greece.
” On Sunday, the Albanian soprano was on the cover of the magazine “ΒΗΜagazino” which dedicated a special place to its pages on the occasion of Ermonela’s first interview for a Greek media. Ticket sales have already started for this show as well as for the October-December shows.
