The rare emotions of a quartet

In the magazine “Musica” (www.rivistamusica.com), which is the classic music magazine founded 41 years ago, has been published a review on the concert of the flute quartet held in Treviso, Palazzo del Podestà. The musicians who performed at this concert on June 10 were flutists: Maria Letizia Pizzato, Sabrina Agosto, Anna Barbiero and Sonia Dartora. In the program they performed works by three composers, including a work by Albanian composer Thoma Simaku. Here it is  how our well-known composer works is described: “Even more complex was the last part of the program written by contemporary music composer Thoma Simaku, author of Albanian origin, whose triptych has been cut off from the “Guirlande de Flutes” commissioned for Simon by the English Loisa and Lewis Creed for the silvery anniversary of their marriage: it is a very complex work, in which Albanian suggestions and atmosphere combine with an innovative language search, stretched between tonal and atonal, beyond the surprising rhythmic combinations and timbres of a visible valence and a suggestive force. ” With the musical activity of composer Thoma Simaku, the Albanian reader has had the opportunity to be informed also through articles published from time to time in the Albanian music critic Opusalb.
