Albanian artists on the scene of the 2019 Ohrid Festival
From July 12 to August 20 the well-known “Ohrid Festival” is being held in Ohrid. This is the 59th edition of this internationally recognized event.
Two performances will be held tonight at the St. Sophia Church of Ohrid. From 8pm the piano and clarinet duo Joe Christophe and Vincent Mussat will bring the individual play and French music school to the audience.
This double tonight brings to the audience a generation of promising young people on the international stage. Pianist Vincent Mussat has been nominated this year as “Discovering the Classical Musician” by the ADAMI Organization for Artists.
But a few nights ago, two instrumentalists from Albania appeared in this 59th edition of the Festival. The program featured works by: Poulenc, Doppler, Ibert, Kolarovski, Messiaen, De Sarasate for the audience present at St. Sophia’s church performed by flutist Jonela Golemi and the pianist Merita Rexha Tërshana.
Artists from Tirana performed on the evening of August 5, 2019 and were warmly welcomed and applauded by the audience attending one of the most important and dignified cultural manifestations of the neighboring Republic. Participants often say that the Festival is lucky to have this city as its home, as well as others who say it is an Ohrid fate identified with this prestigious event held under the auspices of the President of the Republic and of course of the country’s governance through the Ministry of Culture.
