Albanian artists in Germany, charity concert in support of families affected by the earthquake
Last November’s earthquake that struck Albania was a dramatic event for the Albanian people.
People from all over the world expressed their condolences and found you near Albania.
Many of the Albanian artists in the countries they use to live expressed themselves in solidarity with those affected by the November 26 earthquake. Charity concerts, awareness-raising activities, messages and various initiatives showed that they are close to home.
The initiative launched and immediately found the response, motivation and commitment of many music artists living in Germany. The concert was joined by pianist Mirela Zhulali in Essen, violinist Erjona Jaho in Hannover, Enis Hotaj in Aachen, Gjergji Lalazi in Essen and cellist Jola Shkodrani in Cologne. It was the artists themselves who organized the concert with the Albanienhilfe Mühlheim Association and the City of Düsseldorf that provided the Palais Wittgenstein Hall. From this concert up to now they could collect approximately € 10,000. The concert featured works by foreign and Albanian composers. The soprano Migena Gjata performed Lieder by Strauß, Schubert, Zemlinsky and Simon John. In the repertoire of instrumentalists were works by: B.Bartok, S.Rachmaninov, A.Borodin etc. A gift for this concert was the arrangement of “Lulebora” for vocal and string quartet by composer Edmond Zhulali.
