Canceled Eurovision 2020

Canceled 65th edition of Eurovision Song Contest. This event organized by EBU, NPO, NOS and AVROTROS should be held at Ahoy Arena in Rotterdam. The semifinals were scheduled for May 12, May 14 and the final on May 16. The announcement of this decision was announced by EBU (European Broadcasting Union), on the official website of the competition Fb. “We are deeply saddened to announce the cancellation of Rotterdam’s Eurovision Song Contest 2020. In recent weeks we have been looking for alternative opportunities to allow the continuation of the Eurovision Contest. the governments of the participating countries and the Dutch authorities have made the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) make the difficult decision to organize the live event as planned. we are very proud that the Eurovision Song Contest has brought together audiences every year, uninterrupted for 64 years, and we and millions of fans around the world are extremely sad that it cannot take place in May. The EBU, NPO, NOS, AVROTROS and Rotterdam city representatives will continue to negotiate to host the Eurovision Song Contest in 2021. We would like to pay tribute to the entire broadcasting team from the Netherlands and our 41 members who worked so hard to plan this year’s event. We know that the whole Eurovision family from all over the world will continue to donate love and support in these difficult times. ” This year’s race included 41 countries, including Ukraine and Bulgaria, who returned to the race after a year of abstinence. Albania would compete with singer Arilena Ara in this competition. Arilena was the winner of Fest 59 with the song “Shaj”. Her song was reworked and in Rotterdam she would perform in English the song already titled “Fall from the sky”.
