100 years from the birth of “King of Jazz” Nat King Cole
Today, it has been 100 years since the birth of pianist and composer Nat King Cole. He was an actor and performer of jazz music, a winner of the Grammy Awards, which remains today among the best-selling artists in the world. He was the first African-American artist to break the boundaries of time by having his own radio and TV show. And by getting to impose on the American music market when the discrimination was too strong. With his short life he managed to turn every song into a reference to music by leaving collective memory successes such as “Mona Lisa” or “When i Fall In Love”, while the song “Unforgettable” of 1952 resumes in 1991 again by her daughter Nathalie Cole.
