Our Treasurer Unpublished!

Several years ago, it was published an album where there were included the works of Martin Gjoka, Thoma Nasi, Fan Noli and Murat Shehu. The album was published by a Russian publishing house (!). All the works (except some miniatures for the violin and piano of Thoma Nasi) are performed by the Symphonic Orchestra of Albanian Radio-Television conducted by the well-known conductor Eno Koço. These were made long time ago, in the 80’s, and the conductor Koco has carefully assembled them making this album. The importance of it is that to our audience it is offered the opportunity to know (for the first time) a significant legacy of our musical culture created after the first world war, music created in the 1920s and 30s . Thus, conductor Eno Koço has produced a compilation in which it is recorded the first period of the creation of our orchestral-symphonic music. With this edition, it marked in music the 600th anniversary of our national hero Gjergj Kastriot Skenderbeu. This as two of the main works included in the CD are related to his name (The Symphony “Two Flowers on the Tomb of Skanderbeg” by Martin Gjoka and the Symphony Poem “Skenderbeg” by Fan Noli). The content of the album besides these works, includes the “Bad Gaspari” work for Fan Noli tenor and orchestra, Murat Shehu’s “Albanian Rhapsody” (a work and a little known author for the Kosovo’s public), and some miniatures for violin and piano. ……

(Following the author of the article argues the historical significance of these works as well as the particularity of this DC, undoubtedly enabling the work of conductor Eno Koço).
