A short profile of the cellist Maja Bogdanovic
After graduating from the Superior Conservatoire of Paris, Maja Bogdanovic, a Serbian cellist started her career, being considered one of the most famous cellist up to date. She used to play with important orchestras such as the orchestra of Zurich, Berlin, Tokyo, Slovenia, Serbia etc., performing in prestigious halls. Bogdanovic is known as a contemporary music interpreter. In her repertoire we may find authors like: Pendereckij, Gubaidulina, Sawyers, etc. She has important recordings for French Lyrinx being several times awarded. She is the winner of first prize in “Aldo Parisot” cellist’s competition, the winner of Second Prize in the International Competition “Gaspar Cassado”, the Special “Rostropic Competition” prize winner in Paris, etc. Maja is recognized by many festivals of the music for her quality of interpretation in recitals and especially for chamber music. She uses to share her life between Chicago and Paris. Her schedule, though a concert in Tirana is not foreseen, goes from Europe to the US and Latin America, where the music of the century has found its citizenship.
