Il diamante della corona d’oro sopra uno spazio divino.
Symphony n. 5 in E minor, by the Bohemian composer Antonin Dvorzhak (actually his ninth symphony) entitled “From the New World” is one of the masterpieces of symphonic music. As we know it was written during the period of residence of Dvorzhak in America, where he intensely dealt with Indian and black singing. He wrote this symphony “in the spirit of these popular melodies”, though without any quotation. Dvorzhak’s original idea was to create an American musical tradition through his “national” folklore, but the idea failed when the popular songs of this great country took a different direction: that of jazz. Although an idea had failed, others were embroidered in the work and boldly shouted: – “A new world”.
In reality, this dense writing, nourished by a meagerly European musical tradition, represents a new spirit, inspired by the very nature of this new and great continent. Thus the richness of ideas, of episodes and musical themes, of plots to express the most subtle human feelings of happiness, love and strength constitute one of the most famous and surprising symphonic pages of the last 800 ‘.
On the other hand, in the early 1980s, another genius was born who will join the subject of our writing just like the diamond in the crown. He is director Gustavo Dudamel. Born in Venezuela from the family of a trombonist, thanks to the great school music system and his extraordinary talent, he won the Gustav Mahler competition at the age of 23. Thus begins a long journey through the best orchestras in the world to become one of the greatest conductors of our time.
Adeso arla the concert organized in the Sacred See in the room called Paul VI, or the Sala Narvi, in honor of its architect Luigi Narvi. Opened in 1981, it is located between the Italian state and the Vatican, and is for papal audiences. The hall has a capacity of 12,000 seats and on the front of the stage there is a bronze sculpture by Pericle Fazinus representing the Resurrection.
Thus the diamond of the golden crown is thus placed in a divine space.
