Held “Tirana International Jazz Festival”
The eighth edition of the Tirana International Jazz Festival is being held in the capital. In the 2019 edition there are 9 music bands from the country and Europe and beyond.
The festival, which will run until October 12, is bringing to the public groups of musicians from France, Hungary who opened this edition, as well as from Italy, Slovakia, Israel, Turkey, Japan, the United States of America, etc.
Enzo Fata, Risa Brunello, Mattan Klein, Gent Rushi, Senri Oe, Ermal Rodi, Mike del Ferro, Steven Altenberg, Roni Gjura, etc. are some of the musicians part of this edition.
Concerts are taking place in the “Toni Harapi” Hall at the Jordan Misja Artistic Lyceum, as well as at the Black Box Hall at the University of the Arts. Director of this festival is Besim Petrela who at the same time heads the organizing association “Syri blu” while artistic director is Gent Rushi.
In previous years the Festival has held concerts in Tirana and in the districts of Fier, Shkodra, Vlora and Korça. But this year the activity is only taking place in the city of Tirana due to low budget and financial inability to move to other cities where there is a public that wants to meet this music genre.
In addition to concerts during its development days seminars, trainings are being held, there will be workshops for young people from renowned musicians, etc.
The festival is supported by the Ministry of Culture and the Municipality of Tirana, in collaboration with the “Jordan Misja” Artistic Lyceum and other supporters.
The five-day festive day of jazz music will close on Saturday night October 12, 2019.
