Farewell in sounds
The corona virus pandemic has hit many countries around the world, mostly Italy. During these days, various sources in the neighboring country are releasing news on families who lose their beloved ones.
One of the saddest news of the last week was the death of the engineer Adrian Kazazi, from Tirana, who used to work for about 25 years at the headquarters of the FAO (World Organization of Food) in Rome. He is the first victim of coronavirus from the Albanian community living in Rome. Honoring his memory, friends and people who used to know him shared with Adrian’s family the experience of the pain of his loss, in a very an unusual and sad way due to the circumstances. They expressed their condolences to the family, through phone communication, or messages because of the very special conditions of isolation. In honor of the memory of Adrian, FAO, near its headquarters in Rome, lowered the flag while it was performed the national anthem. The Albanian violinist Anyla Kraja, who is livings in the Italian capital for years, being the Ambassador of the Goodwill of FAO for several years and an old friend of Adrian’s, conveyed through the sounds of her violin the pain of this great loss. The artist realized, although in conditions of isolation, a special video dedicated to the figure of the dear friend.
It was a reaction of value, of humanism and solidarity, from the artist Kraja in the last honoring of a loving and dignified personality.
Thus she was conveying the spirit of solidarity of the Albanian community in Rome in this tragic moment.
Through an exciting performance, from her apartment, the violinist Kraja conveys through the sounds of Chopin’s Nocturne do minor, accompanied by pianist Fausto Di Cesare attached to the poetic text, the pain and deep respect for the figure of her friend. The video was edited by her son Alen Xhafa in his studio in Toronto.
We may recall that just a few months ago, in mid-December, Ms. Kraja, as of ideator, violinist, president of the association “NamArt” and producer, realized the show “Treasures of the heart”. The show took place at the Quirino Theater in Rome under the auspices of our Embassy. The purpose of this show, expressed also through the presence on stage of Albanian Ambassador Anila Bitri, was to make the Italian public aware of the November 26 earthquake that struck Albania as a sign of solidarity for our people.
The Actor Alen Xhafa and the pianist Fausto di Cesare were part of this show which was attended by many friends, compatriots, personalities and music lovers. The show had a very positive reaction from the Italian media. The Albanian media also gave a lot of space to this initiative.
In the video that accompanies the musical sounds of the artists, there also included pictures from this show, where Adrian Kazazi and his wife were an important part of the evening.
Pianist Fausto di Cesare on this occasion writes:
“Certain circumstances of life, often missing words that never seem to be enough to describe what we feel.” Music is a God who smiles at a man. “Ina and Anila want to offer this” smile “to dear Adrian as and other families who mourn the lost. Peace be upon you! “
