Elina Duni among the winners of “Swiss Music Prize ” 2017

The Swiss Federal Office of Culture in Bern shares the “Swiss Music Prize in the last  four years. Every year, this office creates a ten-member team consisting of music experts, musicians and music journalists. After the proposals that make them candidates from all musical genres and from all over the country, the proposals are sent to the jury that determines the winner. The big prize this year will be awarded on September 22nd. Elina Duni, Albanian jazz artist, beloved in Albania especially among young people for her artistic uniqueness and originality, is one of the fifteen names included in the list of bests for “Swiss Music Prize”, edition IV. The Federal Office of Culture in Bern and Collection, Paris / Lausanne have made this presentation for the artist from Tirana. “Born in Tirana in 1981, she sings and writes music that is calling for an open Europe. With her special voice and stage appearance, she raises bridges between the Balkan tradition and contemporary Swiss genius, which appears on her albums With the quartet composed by Colin Vallon, Patrice Moret and Norbert Pfammatter, two of whom she has recorded with the ECM record label. In her 2015 album, ” Muza e zezë”, she recorded as a singer and songwriter, “Partir” she use to show  us in nine languages about ​​the migration, the loss and how the tension between the homeland and foreigness has reinvigorates her art”.
